"Once Upon A Lifetime" is inspired by Charles Dickens' "A Tale Of Two Cities" BUT reset in 2023.
It's a tale of desperation, a tale of deceit and despair; love, honour and salvation. And the odd murder as well! And it's about the choices we make if we were to find ourselves in that sort of dilemma. Once in a lifetime choices that can actually change your life. So, it's "how do you deal with that?" And it's "what choices would you make?" -- if you were in fact in that situation.
Michael Brandon is a solitary, apathetic and brooding loner. Rankled by the drudgery of his daily role as dogsbody to eminent lawyer Jeremy Searby, he is also hamstrung by the stifling class system separating him from his better-connected employer.
Blessed with a brilliant intellect but erratic and insecure, it is only through the beautiful Zoé Girard that Brandon realises the tragedy of his unfulfilled potential.
But Zoé is also attracted to the highly principled Paul Bonnet and, when Bonnet is accused of assassinating French President Henri D'Angerville, his life depends on the dubious evidence of the vindictive Marie Bernhard. Only one man can save him --
Michael Brandon.
But to do this, Brandon must make a momentous decision. One that only happens once upon a lifetime.
