@loganyz250f You are partially correct. We funded many mujahadeen tribes to halt soviet expansionism during the cold war. We are fighting the taliban which was merely one faction of mujahadeen. It isn't about "trusting" mujahadeen it's about slaying the greater evil at hand at the time. Hindsight 20/20 is cool but no one can predict what future enemies, or allies, the future will hold. At one time we were mortal enemies with germany and japan now look at us. Allies/enemies change with the times
