This video shows the role the UNHCR has had in protecting the southern Sudanese, from 1988-2007. It combines a news report from the UN Refugee Camp in Fugnido Ethiopia (1989), archival photos from Kakuma Refugee Camp (1992), original video and stills from Kakuma (2007), and an appeal from Luol Deng of the Chicago Bulls to support the UNHCR.
Oh my God, I can not believe when Macher Chol told me that he was single out by teaches and while people carrying big machines guns. I said, but why where they followed you? He said, I do not know, but came I was looking for you, they give me candies. I was like, for real! He said cam- came, but where u? I told him, I am just back from collected fire woods.
