  • @drwiiguy5

Shouldn't be playing "my fire is bigger than your fire".

  • sad...but why "Indian" Fire?...Should be like Native American Fire..Not our type of "indian"..but yea..just a thought;)

  • The Forest Service names fires after places on the map near where the fire started. This one started near Indian Creek.

  • Being a part of the initial attack, I remember almost getting burned on the line next to the burning trees. At one point, the entire crew had to scurry through the heat. Moments later, I touched my face in assurance that it didn't get burned.

  • i was 4 when this happened and i remember all my parents crying and worrying because we cud see the fire from our house. we lived on the side of a mountain, and i remember the police shouting with megaphones down our street to evacuate. i remember packing all my photo albums and keepsakes in one box. i remember evacuating to a family friends house with my puppy on my lap in the car and crying. God bless those firefighters who kept our house and our belongings and life alive in prescott.

  • you must be talking about dot not feather...

  • Thanks!!

A day or two after the fire, an elderly lady pulled up in her white car outside the fence of the staging area, near the rodeo, to give our crew beer. She insisted we take them, but we couldn't because we were on duty. It was funny, but a nice gesture and very tempting...HAHA

  • Cool...I was in one of the first crews to help fight this fire, the BIA. Thanks for posting
