  • Many seem to miss the point that the Gipsy Kings are very popular and bring enjoyment to many who otherwise wouldn't know Flamenco "pop" or "pure" at all. The Gipsy Kings don't claim to be pure Flamenco artists.

They entertain very well ,in the end thats all that matters to me .

  • Im gonna make every body happy: this IS a Fandango. Then they play por Tango.

    Now, dont be confused:

Seguidilla and Seguiriya (or Siguiriya) are 2 completely different palos.

Seguidilla is an oooold Spanish dance (also sang) that is at the origin of Sevillanas! it is not Gypsy (even if they used it too later on).

Seguiriya (or Siguiriya) takes its name after Seguidilla but as musically nothing to do with it.

    You follow me? :)

Seguiriya is one of the main palos, like Soleares, it's Cante Hondo.

  • Oh God, I'm crying...

  • @Kulangwa Hi Thanks for clearing that up! All the best!

  • @silverdalesapphires The black patches are there because they beat on the guitar. That is one of the "specials" of flamenco guitar. If you listen you can hear it...

  • These guys kept me sane post-op after two hip operations in the late 90's early 2000's. They have the ability to draw you into their world - if only for a while - and even though you can't understand a word of the songs, it doesn't matter. Their sheer musicality and ability to communicate is phenomenal. BTW, are those black 'patches' on the guitars simply to accommodate the wear of strumming or are they a normal feature? (Dunno much about guitars!)

  • @cloggy12003 mis antepasados tambien son de espana tal vez por eso me parece tan buena su musica

  • I would like to hear José Reyes(father of reyes brothers) singing this amazing piece of music.... Wow! it'd be astonishing!

  • This is 'Pure', 'Raw', Music at it's best, I would have to say 'Passionate' if I had only one word to sum this up...'Passionate'! ........Muy Bonito! Gracias Gypsy Kings.

  • @sntiagol no, they are not, they were born, and live in Arles, France, they do have ancestors from Andalucia - Spain, but don't live there, and never lived there

  • i love this music-are the gypsy kings really gypsies & spanish, or do they just play gypsy music and are of hispanic origins?

  • This performance shows me the true essence of Gipsy Kings and musica de los gitanos...E X C E P T I O N A L, raw, and powerful! Love it!

  • Gipsy Kings sid le meilleur de ce qui est en France

  • it is sung from the heart and that is all that matters, pure, passionate, art, that hits you in the very depth of our animalistic soul... that is why the Gypsy Kings will always be my favorite Latino band, end of story!

  • Algo extraordinario es pura sangre gitana .

  • Oleeeee son toa las copla del dios del flamenco y de los Gitano

Jose monge cruz "El camaron de la isla" Oleeee :) Viva los Calos

  • who the devil was in charge of the audio recording? i have to turn it almost all the way up in order to hear it.

    it is awesome song though!

  • @eaglerock999

they are not flamenco they are gipsys, they are from many parts, many places.

  • Why are you trying to sell these guys? They are as pure as music will ever get. This is flamenco, middle eastern, gypsy music. This is pure man. Enjoy and as Billy Holiday would say: Don't Explain. Peace.

  • @frwiss it only end's up in one thing !!!!!!!!! a big fukn BANGO dumd chik's luv da beeatado they just dont undostando. end's up in wun fkn rooootartdooo.

frwisss just name da beat . an bang it out. tankado''sss

    pandakop'sss

  • dude cornering the market?

for all their poverty, there is nothing the upper class world of luxury has that the gypsies want. The Reyes brothers were just kind of dragged into show business.

Very few gypsies pursue high paying careers, lives of luxury etc.

  • I've heard the Reye's father sing; he does so briefly in "madre mia" he sings with a deph, his sons just don't have. Maybe those stories about their grandfather are true.

  • stardingo747 you've covered a lot in your three comments, but the only thing I can say is unless you actually KNOW the Reyes' & Baliardos personally, no one can ever determine if & how they've struggled, or are struggling now. They just make amazing gypsy rumba, and if anybody faults them for cornering that market, so be it -- more for us who love them lol

  • among the gypsies it is said that you can only sing their music, if your heart has known true suffering. If you have never suffered in your life, good luck learning pure Flamenco.

  • singing from the hearts is unbelievably hard, regarding the Gipsy Kings, its been said that fame killed their music. When they were poor, struggling, and in pain, their music was beautiful, but, no sooner did they become successful that it became, well, "phony." Although, maybe they can use the pain of having lost their sincerity to compose something.
