Confessions of a torotot maker (GMANews.TV)

I-Witness editor Abbie Lara follows Baguio-based visual artist Kawayan de Guia and Tondo-based torotot maker Rick Matias as they create an ambitious art piece: a huge functioning torotot shaped like a sungay (horn) for the "Confessions of a Sinner" group exhibition in Makati.

"Confessions of a Torotot-Maker" captures the experience of Mang Rick as his skills in the craft are challenged by contemporary artist Kawayan's vision for their project.

This is the first in a series of documentary films that Abbie is doing on Kawayan: a UP Fine Arts graduate, Ateneo Art Awardee, New York Arts Project residency grant recipient, and son of visionary film director Kidlat Tahimik.
