  • @crocboy88 Philips actually provides parts for the DPM 9600 series. So they can be repaired through authorized repair centers.

  • @blztank You would have to convert the audio file to .DSS format before putting it on the Handheld recorder. Then the unit would be able to play the audio file back. If you wanted to be able to use .MP3's i would recommend the Olympus DM520.

  • The Ds5000 is better, both units will last longer than the warranty, BUT the Philips units do not make Replacement parts! Olympus units can be repaired.
