  • Should the window not be opened mate?

  • The windows can be opened afterward. With this type of crank out window, it becomes a problem because these windows operate with an armature, they can only be operated from inside and if there is nobody home, as is often the case, the window can't be open. As well, often the area that remains hidden inside should remain unpainted to prevent sticking.

  • @brokennarcissist Wire brush and paint remover yielded minimal progress, guess I'll try a pressure washer in the spring.

    Again, appreciate the advice, thanks.

  • @brokennarcissist If the paint is leeching down on brick, a pressure washer should remove it. If it doesn't then scraping with anything from a wire brush, scrapers or best some 60 grit sandpaper in a power sander. Good luck...

  • @irish89055 Thanks for the reply, the paint has bleed out from the shudders over the years, looks awful.

  • @madass88 I'll come over and help.... pro painter in Virginia...

  • @brokennarcissist don't...... some brick is harder and hence harder to get off exp if old... used putty knife or old screw driver and rub out paint, even a piece of brick of same type is good..

  • @payntingdotcom if they're not home, then you must have them open them later as you zip them free with your putty knife/ 5 in one.. yeah, he's a canuck.. i can tell my accent and architecture.... i think in Canada like England there must be a law you have to paint your windows white... Dap with Silicone is ok caulk, i prefer a elastomeric caulk... you really can't do that much caulking and wiping it out, should have caulked it first or earlier if window have much cracking..

  • Very liberal with the caulking. A technique for professionals!

  • Any advice on getting paint off bricK?

  • We ALL can learn something every day if we have the right attitude. Very nice Video. Keep it up.
