A mechanism called a Left Ventricular Assist Device, or LVAD, can help people with heart disease have a stabler life while they wait for a donor heart to become available for a transplant. Cardiologist Dr. Mark Drazner and cardiovascular surgeon Dr. Brian Bethea at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas discuss the future of LVAD in helping people with other types of heart disease.
