In the 60 years since Mrs. Ada Debold and a few of her friends founded our predecessor group, the Committee for Nephrosis Research, in a church parish house in Tuckahoe, New York in 1950, there has been a revolution in kidney detection and treatment.
The National Kidney Foundation is proud to have contributed to the medical, education and legislative advances which have helped thousands of kidney patients and organ recipients live richer, fuller lives. We have evolved into a thriving organization taking a leadership role in all aspect of kidney prevention and care—from public education and patient advocacy to the support of research and the development of clinical guidelines.
I support the National Kidney foundation because it has helped many people who are on dialysis, and have kidney disease. when I first found out I had PKD, and my kidneys failed, i was devastated. Because of the PKD, and NKF they gave me info to learn about what was happening to me, and my family and friends didn't understand, and were afraid.
