In this video I showcase fundamental differences between a real pair of Ray Ban Polarized Original Wayfarer sunglasses (model: RB2140) with fake knockoffs being hawked as the real-deal on eBay.

Some key design features apparent in real Wayfarers that I showcase in the video include:

- Proper UPC/QR coded inventory sticker on the outer package
- EU Recycled Material logo on outer package
- Protective plastic bags and static-activated rubber stickers on glasses
- Seven-prong stem hinges with anodized screws
- Anodized metal rods running the length of both frame stems
- Ray Ban lens logo on right lens that doesn't feel like it will scratch off
- Lens-embedded "RB" logo on left lens that doesn't feel like it will scratch off
- Stem-to-Frame angle smaller than 90 degrees (see video)
- All included promotional collateral must not be Bausch and Lomb branded

  • Great vid, I was just about to get a pair on ebay when I realized how many are fakes. I'm going to get mine from Lens Crafters, can't take the chance on ebay
