The menu is a 8x8 led matrix driven by a MAX7219.

The faceplate is sanded transparent and white acrylic laser cut and etched by formulor.de. A paper sheet in between serves as a nice diffuser.

The clock itself will be composed of 60 rgb leds on the outer circle of the faceplate (inspired by the Equinox clock by Bram Knaapen).
The menu will be controlled through an infrared receiver which picks up the reb, green, yellow and blue buttons of the TV remote.
