When the time comes, what will we be proud of? The sum in our bank accounts? The fruit of our loins? Or the fact that we faced extraordinary circumstances and we proved to be equals of our forefathers? That we "Carried the fire" be it in the sense of "The Road" or of the Olympic spirit, it matters not. We are what we do; a tree that falls makes a noise even if there isn't one there to witness it. One can hope that times will come when that matters.
