  • @thewewguy8t88 What? No. The writers knew who the killer was going to be from the very beginning. It was their job to confuse us a bit as it is in any mystery, but they knew all along. They only told the actor, however, once episode 8 rolled around.

  • @LeoandTrina yeah but that was the frist reason cuz like honestly think everyone was making up who the killer as they were writing this thing and no one knew who the killer was untill the very end.

  • @thewewguy8t88 But that wasn't the -only- reason. It wasn't simply put there to make us suspect him--his reasoning was shown later, as it was with all the other incidents.

  • @LeoandTrina thats exactly my point they worte that there so the audince would pretty much think at that point he is the killer.

  • @thewewguy8t88 Well, it was meant to in a way. Just like J.D.'s "surprise in the church" was supposed to make you think he was the killer, or how the police files on Jimmy were supposed to make us think he was.

The best example, I believe, is with Malcolm. The fact that he kept the money after Booth's death made it seem to Danny and Sully that he was the killer. Put us in Danny and Sully's positions in any of the previously mentioned scenarios. Seems likely, but was really just bad fate.

  • @LeoandTrina yeah i guess its just like i said we had to make our own conclusions at the time and the average person would porably think he is the killer. at the time. seeing everything now is diffrent though

  • @thewewguy8t88 Well, no, that -was- the context. In episode 2, I think it's the group that goes to rescue Cal in the end mentions that someone's been setting all kinds of traps in the forest. The explanation isn't exactly handed to us, but I think it might make things a little less enjoyable and engaging if it was.

  • @LeoandTrina yeah and the way he sent his dogs to go kill them with no real explantion or context.

  • @thewewguy8t88 Think what was? The traps? Dunno, they seemed pretty logical to me... If I were a dude that got half my face burned off, I'd totally be more than a little wary of the rest of humanity.

  • @thewweguy8t88 Oh, but I completely agree about the shooting thing XD Everyone sucked at handling guns on that show. Minus Sully.

The other inhabitants of Harper's Island... if you watch the companion webseries, Harper's Globe, you can see some examples of what the other inhabitants were doing there. Though the webseries wasn't as good.

It's funny, all the red herrings actually lead nowhere if you think about them.
