The Muslims made Constantinople Istanbul,Prayag Allahabad, and many many more examples...and the British atrocities are well known to all. India (since the times when it was Hindustan earlier) has been invaded by every religion.. Mughals(muslims), Britishers(christians), Zoroastrians/parsees (tho they dint actually invade..they were let in peacefully and have been so since then..) .. But in the same breath, I think that we should focus on what the muslim moderates, barrister Ahsan and the Moulana said - Indian Islam (or even the Pak Islam in the start) mostly does follow the Berelvi strain of pluralistic Islam, not the rigid Wahhabis. This was one ultra-interesting debate where there was no Hindu pseudo-secularist or a right-wing Zakir Naik reeling out sound bytes.

It makes sense that you cannot attribute violence to a certain denomination or religion. It is never the religion, it is the people. However, does religion play a role in destabilizing society? Yes, of course! Just not a single one, religion, in general. Reason being that there is, by definition, a disagreement. In Africa and Americas, it was race, in Europe, nationality and in Indian Sub-Continent, it is without a doubt, religion.

Not even one debate or documentary has ever been done on this incidence. The aftermath of this incidence proved to all dalits that caste system is still alive and kicking in even urban population.

@MrTerminator9999999 -Every news channel reported burning of train in ulhasnagar, but none cared to report deaths of protesters in police firing on a group who were returning home after calling off their protest and death of a dalit youth beaten up by Sindhis in ulhasnagar who was asking them to follow bandh. The heavy hand of police against dalits who were not even protesting went unreported.

@MrTerminator9999999 - National news media and print media deliberately did not report or highlight this brutal rape and lynching of a women and her teenage daughter and two of her sons, one of them mentally handicapped. The wave of dalits protesting against state's non-action was reported as naxalism. None of prime political party cared to ask gov of Maharashtra or center for any justification for no-action by police after the lynching.
