The government has set aside 27 billion shillings for enhancing higher education countrywide. Speaking during the 28th graduation ceremony at the Kenyatta university president Kibaki added that plans are underway to create more vocational training centres all over the country so as to expand education. He also urged the graduates to think beyond the borders and exploit opportunities in other East African countries.

  • @mytime81 LOL!!! Haha very true. They've got the cash but problem is these guys have many visa bans. I think they worry about their security coz someone like moi can't go through airports with armed guards coz he's no longer a president. Plus the humiliation of going through immigration checkpoints and being searched like an ordinary citizen after 24 yrs in power is too much for moi. He should just relax in his farms and watch his cattle with the retirement package. Even raila, Kibaki & others.

  • @drsugarcane Sorry I missed on that. Maybe he wants a forum to remain visible after retirement in 2012. kenyan politicians don't seem to get it. Kung'ang'ana mpaka kaburini. When do they get to enjoy what they have earned all their lives or what they have been stealing from the tax payer? If I were somebody like Moi, I would be cruising the world and sampling exotic things before dispatching to meet the maker, not running up and down in a red shirt opposing the constitution!

  • @karuitha Kibz broke so many promises in broad daylight. We were the most optimistic people in the world according to a gallup poll done after the peaceful 2002 elections. I remember him in the wheelchair uttering those words. The man squandered such an awesome opportunity coz he didnt honor the famous MOU which led to the split and defeat of 2005 draft. At least alot of change has happened in his time while moi's time we were stagnant and hopeless. The new constitution will be his legacy

  • @mytime81 according to the Nation newspaper..."President Kibaki was installed as the new chancellor after Dr Harris Mule resigned three months ago"....If you listened to the video at the end it also says the same....why couldn't he appoint a replacement instead of taking the title?

  • @drsugarcane Kibaki is not a chancellor of any public University. All of them have a chancellor for each. He rarely goes to these ceremonies unless so invited.

  • like being so pregnant???hehehhe kwelikweli ur a kenyan public school graduate

  • @drsugarcane well Kibaki said so many things in 2003 that have turned out to lies. He said he wanted a lean small cabinet of less than 20, today he has 42, he said corruption would cease to be a way of life in Kenya, today we are all corrupt, he promised us a constitution in the first 100 days, well 8 yrs later we still talking. so many broken promises.

  • Like a school that introduced serial killer Onyancha to evil things, so did KU which introduced Ruto to be a mass killer.

  • When Kibaki came to power in 2003 he ceased being chancellor of universities like Moi was and appointed chancellors, why is he giving himself back these duties?
