  • Well this sucks. How do you implement scrum with one-developer projects? I'm the only guy taking the project to completion and in your model, the product owner will have to double as the scrum leader. Guess it's time to quit small web consultancies and go work at SaaS companies that treat their developers as a valuable asset and not costly overhead.

  • @ccricers As someone who also does single web development contracts I would advise you to focus less on the team practices of scrum and more on the principles. Most importantly communicate with your customers and deliver in short iterations so you can get quick feedback. Also on larger projects I find it useful prioritize a backlog with my customer and then use it to plan out my weekly workload.

  • Wow! How original guys. I wonder where you got the idea to do "Scrum in 7 Minutes"? I wish I had thought of that! After all, my video was 8 minutes long.

  • @hshojaee Your video was nice but unfortunately propagates several misconceptions which I will address in the following replies:

[hshojaee]: "Scrum Masters are Project Managers" - Not even close! The Scrum Master is a facilitator who ensures that the Scrum process is used as intended.

[hshojaee]: "The release backlog should be split into sprints in advance" - Again bad idea! Sprints should be planned sequentially so that feedback can influence future sprints.

  • @hshojaee You confuse sprint and release level burndowns. These are two different charts that serve two distinct purposes.

You confused story and task level estimates. They are different for a reason! These two types of estimates allow us to have micro and macro level metrics. Tasks impact the sprint burndown and stories impact the release burndown.

  • @hshojaee [hshojaee]: "The daily standup meeting is not a core or essential part of scrum" - This statement is laughably ridiculous! Did you ever stop to think about why the daily meetings are called SCRUMS?

Lastly 7 minutes is better than 8! Hahaha anyways hopefully this video can assist people in learning while not feeding them incorrect information.

  • I like it, and I like the bitchy little kids arguing about who's stuff is better.
