  • Thanks for posting this. I have always loved this song and remember when it charted in 1969-1970. I have not heard this version in almost 40 years and love it! Canned Heat did it really well but this one rocks - Thanks so much man.

  • The Canned Heat version made me go out and check out the Wilbert Harrison original.

  • This is the one I remember - right down to the volume "burp" in the middle.

I never heard the Canned Heat version until very recently- don't know how I missed it, but I prefer the original.

  • @Screamingdk How about some old white folks who know weir it all came from,,, The South.

  • My favourite version of this song.

  • I've always heard and loved the versions by Roxy Music and especially Canned Heat. But I never heard the original version before. And this is a one-man band. Cool!

  • I honestly think that I am the only person that I know that listened to this music all the time, Your Royal Countess, Tammy Mast PhD, Republican Central Committee Precinct Chair 34* Flathead County Montana 59901, and next week Prophecy Reverend Tamm. Graduate of Religious Studies.

  • I didn't the original version first but I really like it

  • @lillback1 Wow, how fun!!!! When was that?

  • @Screamingdk I'm a 69 yr. old honest white kid, heard Ray Charles, Jimmy Reed, Elmo James etc: on my radio when I was about nine yrs.old & was hooked ! No Pat Boone for this blue eyed soul brother ! The roots of this music go all the way back to the church. Jimmy Reed is in the Upper Room playin rhythm guitar 4 Mahalia !
