Slow-motion version (although since this is Guilty Gear, I should have slowed it even more[1]) of me using a Volcanic Viper (a special move) to counter a Banki Messai (a super move).
The key is to crouch-block, which allows you more time to release the block and 2-in-1 into a special move without leaving yourself open, and then the rest is just timing.
I did this intentionally, but I was still plesantly surprised when it worked. You see, Guilty Gear is based on a 60fps clock for its game cycle, which is quite insane. In fact, that's twice as fast as the video capture card works (it interlaces two fields to give you a 30fps stream.... actually, 29.970fps, but whatever, that's another tangent).
In future games, the timing of GG was adjusted so that moves had more "prelag", of "at least 13/60 second, or about 217 milliseconds". Riiiiight.... because we all exist on high diets of caffine, glucose, and fructose, and have no fear of Type II Diabetes, nor stress-induced heart attacks.
Anyhow, I have a pulse rate of around 54 bpm (the normal rate is around 70) and I can still kick ass at this game. The point? Err, I dunno... but, don't let games stress you out, even the very fast ones.
That goes for life in general, as well.
1. I slowed this by a factor of 3. That is, it is at 1/3 the speed of the original.
2. I recorded my voice-over seperately and crudely slapped it together.
I played this until I beat it with at least 2 characters (I think Sol and Chip), but nowadays it seems I've lost my edge, can't get very far... I find it relaxing somehow, though... asside from the Instant Kills, which you can't turn off and the CPU loves to use on me, it's a fun game which rewards time spent playing it... this was the first time I even though of countering a super (chaos move) with a special.
