Trichy Shri Sankaran demonstrates the "Splendour of tiSram and khaNDam" in his lecture-demonstration at the Music Academy, Chennai on December 20, 2008 during the morning session.

Here, Sankaran sir discusses a method for rendering "kIzh kAlam" (slow tempo) tiSram for miSra cApu tALam, analagous to how it is typically done for Adi tALam. He then beautifully transitions into "mEl kAlam" (fast tempo) tiSram and plays a crisp korvai to end the naDai.

Many dignitaries were in attendance including Vellore Shri Ramabhadran, Shri S.R. Janakiraman, Shri TK Govinda Rao, and Shri MS Gopalakrishnan (see in the foreground of the video).
