  • @Myskuk precisely...and most real, controlled giant fire balls seen on screen don't make the sound of a fierce, blast explosion. love Mythbusters !

  • @xcode394 Usually a set is very polluted with other noises which makes recording difficult. And besides explosions you see in movies are usually just a type of firebomb if I recall correctly which doesn't give off that nice blast sound you'd want only a ¨poof¨. It looks nice but sounds absolutely shite. I believe mythbusters did a piece on explosions in movies that would perhaps explain it better.
