Pyrotechnician For a Day was done July 5, 2008. I wanted to show what it is like to display a professional fireworks display. If you ever watch a fireworks display and think you want to be the fireworks man, well this is what it is like. For me the love of fireworks goes back to my childhood. I tried not to make the series this long but needed to do so to capture the day's events. If you have the time, watch it in order. Total time is around 50 min. If you are already are a pyrotechnician be gentle with criticism if I did something wrong. I'll dedicate this series to all the men and women, that are mostly part time pyrotechnicians that make the fourth of July possible in the United States against a never ending list of government regulations.

  • if you dont mind me asking, how much does it cost to put on an entire show?

  • The best way I have seen it documented is at grucci-dot-com under Schedule of Budgets. Check it out.

  • I saw something that caught my intrest this time... Was the finaly covered bcs it looked like you had something covering it when you stood there and explaining you wanted the cakes to fit in the camera and you where thinking of how to set the camera for the show,so it it was covered, why did you voer it?Protect from other fireworks that may set of the whole finaly sequense or:)?? Awsome finaly great you got it on tape:)

  • Yes the finale was covered with a tarp to prevent a spark from lighting it. I covered it because it was all fused together. However, if it was an electronic display I would not cover it because each row in the finale would have been separate with an electric match on the ends. If I expected rain I would have covered in aluminum foil and shoot right through it. The nice thing about tarps is , you can pull them off easily.

  • Great show man! I really love your movies :).

  • Thank you for that compliment. It is nice to hear that once and a while to drive me to continue to make more videos.
