TAFA: The Textile and Fiber Arts List had its first public event during the Quilt Show. Unfortunately, we had the biggest flood here since the Flood of 1937. Even so, everyone who saw the show seemed impressed. "See you next year?"

The space where we held our event belonged to Sarah Roush. She passed away in 2010 of cancer and is sorely missed. She was one of Paducah's pioneer artists, prolific to her last day. She did all of the ceramic work you see in the video footage. I wrote about her in a blog post:

The space you see in the video belonged to Sarah Roush, one of Paducah's pioneer artists. She did all the ceramic work you see in the footage. She passed away last year after a long struggle with cancer and is sorely missed. The last event I had been in at that space was her memorial.
