I can honestly say that I agree that this style of music isnt new persay. It's just that long overdue lull we had for NWOBHM/Traditional Metal bands. It all died around 83 and glam metal took over. Then grunge killed glam. Then hip-hop and pop music took over (which i hate most about). Then in the mid 00's there was the whole british indie rock wave which also lead to garage 60's influenced rock (i.e cage the elephant). History is repeating itself. after the 90's we went back & started the 60's.

@xsurvinnorex Stop being Mulish, AsphyxGr trying to say that people, and especially music industry, use to give different names when a new and different music movement like N.W.O.B.H.M. in late 70's or Hardcore Metal back in the 90's, or New-Metal in early 90's etc. start to rise...

@xsurvinnorex If you try to tell that all these great bands like Holy Grail, Enforcer, Skullfist etc. are musically something new to the global heavy metal music of our times, this is totally wrong whatever name you wanna give to it. Sure it's great to exist bands that like to play like N.W.O.B.H.M. but it's very irresponsible from all of us to believe and say that this is something new so as to give a new name.
To be honest, the NWOTHM tag is rather silly. Proper old-school metal never went away! =)

@TheCryptViolator 1: It's just a label. You'd get a few people arguing with you that it's not even "old-school".

Then we went into more of 70's style in the second half of the 00's. with wolfmother and such. Now were heading into the 80's again (which is good). We now have a resurgence in old NWOBHM bands. Which gave rise to many new bands that are huge fans of that era. This began as the NWOTHM movement. Its not new as I said its just a return to old, raw, kickin music. We loved dearly.
