I taught the drum line in the 80's when the band went to Florida, we played 1812 overture, I "borrowed" a cannon from the local VFW I lived with a snare, his dad was on the board, his mother was the chief nurse for the school district... When I got off the plane with my long hair and beard, I thought the director was going to have a heart attack, I rewrote the drill on a napkin, borrowing the Kilties wedge move... anybody remember Tyla from the Guard??? Yeah I hate our drumline becasue they think they're really good...but they suck. Two people in my section are doing cascades this summer though.

Cascades new band directors is new and not very qualified. Their drumline is something else; they all hate drumcorp and do everything their own way. It's kind of annoying. There is nobody marching drumcorp from Cascade.

Mike Leone has never been the director at Evergreen. Evergreen's directors are Steve Kuske and Lewis Norfleet. Leone is the band director at Hockinson HS and helps with Skyview. He is also the corps director for the Seattle Cascades.

Cascade got a new band director last year, and they beat Kamiak this year. Evergreen's director Mike Leone should've been Cascade's director but Evergreen offered more money.

I think mead beats Kamiak most of the time in percussion captions though both drumlines are very good.

Evergreen from Vancouver usually has a slightly bigger band than Kamiak (as does Mercer Island, who doesn't do comps). Their drumline is about on the same level as Mead's. Kamiak's drumline (and band) has gotten a lot better since they got a new band director. They used to just win because they were the biggest, but now they actually have some quality to back it up.

compared to the other high schools in washington, mead definately has the biggest drumline... kamiak i believe has the biggest band, and generally a cleaner drumline but mead has better equipment :( always been jealous, but i remember the 2005-2006 season they had a douche on bass 5.
Is that the best Spokane has to offer in drumlines?

without a doubt. however we just just threw that together in about 10 minutes... it was not intended to show us off. Just to offer a service to our community.
