Your two by two window to your soul
on my laptop
has sucked me from a placid numb existence,
wiped the sleepy crud from my blind eyes,
and opened my ears to other creatives
who carve their imprints with ink on vellum
or 12pt Verdana in violet
and later embed their words into voice
their voice into sight
their sight into my mind
while I sit in my nakedness
on a wooden chair
searching a visual database
of connections between hearts and minds
trying not to get lost
in the tangled web
of ill humor
degrading desires
and promises of gold.
