What a beautiful home on a private inlet on the East coast in Wilmington, NC. This is a White Oak hardwood floor in need of updating. The finish that was on the floor was peeling in areas and high traffic areas were wearing with unbalanced sheen levels. The stain color was changed a bit and the sheen level was changed from high gloss to semi-gloss.

  • you guts did a great job. i have a question so im hoping you can give me some advice. im in the process of refinishing my floors. theres some real bad stains that i cant get off through the sander. and its too many boards to replace. however i like the bare wood look. i know i cant poly it and expect it to look bare and i know that the stains would come out even more. what should i do? stain it dark call it a day?

  • @supadem Stains on hardwoods can be very difficult to remove. One option may be to bleach the stained areas and see what happens. Mix your bleach 1 to 1 with water. They may come out and if they do finish the floor natural and call it good. If they don't come out, the only option may be to stain them dark. Hope it works out for you! Thanks for watching!

  • can you do this without a machine? im moving and im broke :( my room is not big and need cheap cheerful ideas on how to make my floor look good. Its real wood but i want it stained white PLEASE HELP ME :)

  • @chloeb8915 Unfortunately, there really isn't a cheap option. Especially if you are going to white wash the floor. It would really need to be sanded to look good. I wish I had a better answer for you... Thanks for checking us out, though... Good luck!

  • any chance of u doing step by step process of staining with the buffer ... i would like to learn how n my knees will thank u alot

  • @broncoramfan We will see what we can do for you... Thanks so much for watching!

  • @grabbber That is your opinion and of course, you are entitled to it. Light/golden stain is from the 70's. Today's houses have richer colors that bring out accents far better than the drab golden tones.

  • @refinedhardwood thanks. we tried that and it did lightened it a bit but wasnt enough to satisfy me so we stained and finished it. came out great. thanks for the help

  • The flooring is too Dark and depressing! a lighter wood would look much better!

  • floors so beautiful it's almost a shame to walk on them

  • FELICITACIONES A LA MUJER Q HIZO LA MAQUINITA Y 10 DIAZ ES DEMASIADO TIEMPO PARA ES TRABAJO PERO A SI COMO USTEDES TRABAJAN TIENEN RAZON DE TARDARSE MUCHO

  • Fantastic job. I'm not sure why they wanted the floors done in the first place but to each their own. You got 10 days work out of it!
