"Renovation Project -- In the name of good" has been developed in the dialogue between artist Sophie Jocz and curator Agnieszka Sural on the topics like art, artists and their lives. One of the main ideas of this work in progress is analisys of different relations and liaisons, and challenge of friendship in artistic environment. It's going to reveal about specificity of project crossing common norms. In the name of good shifts around different disciplines, like sociobiology and interior architecture. In practice this project means renovation of the atelier-apartment who belongs to Polish established artist, Oskar Dawicki. Rebuiliding and improvement of private space of 25 square metres in the center of Warsaw city.

"Renovation Project" by Sophie Jocz is open-handed gesture in favour of another artist. It contains payment of costs of repairing, renovation, painting, and cleaning. Artist will find himself in ‚better situation', and quality of his life condition will change. Creative process of work is partly planned, but it is going to develop in progress. Jocz considers different possibilities produced by art and reality. She creates a project impredictable in after-effects. We don't know, if it will change anything. It poses question, if artist is allowed to do whatever wants. What are the consequences of freedom?

"Renovation Project -- In the name of good" is a part of this year's edition of TEMPS D'IMAGES LABORATORY. Artist's private apartment -- atelier becomes a space where artistic and curator's research as well as repair works will take place. The space which, at once, can turn into something completely different.
Sophie Jocz is going to make a movie "In the name of good". Its premiere will take place in Laboratorium CCA Ujazdowski Castle. Film will be also presented on TEMPS D'IMAGES website (www.tempsdimages.eu).

Sophie JOCZ, born in 1977 in Paris, multimedia artist, author of sculptures, videos and installations. She graduated Department of Multimedia in Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-arts in Paris. In 2008 Sophie Jocz made an installation "Amator sztuki" in Witryna gallery in Warsaw. She took part in Pochód Sztuki in Galeria Pies, Poznań. In 2009 she was invited to create new project in frames of STRAdART 2009 -- Fabric Mobile Art in Timişoara, Romania. She lives and works in Warsaw.
