This is me playing "Glory to God" from the Heritage Mass on a 3 manual Walker organ. I use the Sforzando for this song. Enjoy!

  • I would really hope that you don't play like this when there are people trying to sing. Try something along the lines of Principals 16' 8' 4' in the Pedal with manuals coupled at 8', foundations at 8' 4' 2' and the mixture in the Swell. foundations 16' 8' 4' 2 2/3' 2' and mixtures in the Great with the Swell coupled, and principals and flutes at 8' and 4' on the Choir for use on the "Lord Jesus Christ" verse. Much more appropriate for leading the singing than every last stop drawn.

  • @octavegeigen4 Ya, I never used sforzando when people were singing before. Unfortunately we don't sing this anymore, so I can't record it with people singing to it. To give you an idea of the registration I used for this, look at one of my other new videos such as "Come to Me".

  • I am taking organ lessons at the nearby university. I enjoy it greatly, even though I've only played it once. Lol

  • @TheBrain188 That is great!

  • Hey, Great Video ! ! What Church is this??

  • @TheBrain188 It always makes me happy to see people converting to Catholicism! I would recomend that you take about 3 months of organ lessons and do many pedal scales (I did over 52 of them). You will at least get to the point where you can confidently sit down and play a traditional hymn on the organ even if you have to play it through a few times. Many churches do need organists. What they don't want (I have witnessed this) is pianists who "taught" themselves how to play the organ.

  • @CoolNick107 I thought it would be something along the line of all stops out. I'm not even a legitimate organist, I've only played the organ once, but after converting to Catholicism I've had a STRONG desire to play organ at a Mass, I'm an 11 year experienced pianist, and I thought that my talents could be useful in the Church, if you get my point.

  • @TheBrain188 ALL THE STOPS!!! This was before I was an established orgaist at the church. I was experimenting with the sforzando. I never use any reeds on this piece when I play it for masses, I only use flues.

  • What was your registration on this piece (the stops used)?

  • @kmauro2714 I just wanted to hear the full organ. This was before I had my own presets on this organ. I would never use Sforzando on the Glory to God in church though.
