All of the pre-work is done by this time (removing fuel lines, distributor, electrical, etc.). Then we disconnected the drive shaft (or as they say in the old country - propeller shaft) at the rear differential and pulled the front spline from the transmission removing the drive shaft from the rear.

  • the 3rd wiper was added in 1972 (might have been 71) because US safety regulations said the wipers had to cover a certain percentage of the windshield glass... since the windshield is so short, that was the easiest way to satisfy the regulation.

    I want to remember to look and see how accessible the "view port" is on the top of the transmission, because I'd like to keep my eye on that push bearing.
