One of the top players in school history, Blakely will graduate from the Vermont as a three-time America East Defensive Player of the Year, two-time Kevin Roberson America East Player of the Year and wrapped up this career by being named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2010 America East Tournament. Blakely finished his Catamount career ranked fifth all-time at Vermont in scoring, second in rebounding and steals, third in blocks, and 10th in assists. He also finished fifth all-time in America East history in rebounds and 14th in scoring. Blakely helped Vermont win the America East Championship this season and advance to the NCAA Tournament, where it took on Syracuse. Following postseason play he won the 2010 NCAA Slam Dunk Contest and was one of 64 seniors invited to take part in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament. This season he was is one of two players in the nation to lead his team in points, rebounds, assists, blocks and steals, and was the only active player in the nation with over 1,500 career points, 900 rebounds, 200 assists, 200 blocks and 200 steals. The men's winner of the 2010 J. Edward Donnelly Award is Marqus Blakely.
