picture the sun going down on March 18th for the last time in the South Pole and it being dark for 6 months, only the stars can be seen amongst days of cloud and ice crystals at minus 70C. Then on September 23 the sun just rises above the horizon for the first time in 6 months with weak twighlight gradually increasing over the next two weeks to be sunny again in October

deception pass is a vacation spot near seattle. It is currently the most beautiful place in the Pacific Northwest IMHO. Went there last summer, it was great. Highly recommend it.
