  • I am surprised they did not have Loretta Lynn in the movie Sweet Dreams

  • @DougMcCallister1 ...Last word...check out her songs the charted.....

on 'pop and country'...Elvis did the same ...along w/ many others......Peace)

  • @yedon68 You got that information from the movie "Sweet Dreams" which is not 100% accurate with the times or Patsy Cline.

  • @DougMcCallister1 ...There were 'pop' charts in the 1960's and Patsy

charted both pop and country...I was a teen and followed it...

Thanks for your reply ...hopefully we can disagree and still love the music...!

  • @yedon68 Today we have more classified music that evolved from the 60's and 70's like "Hard Rock", "Heavy Metal", "Acid Rock", "Hip Hop" which is close to "Pop", "Rap", "New Age" and others to come. But believe me "Pop Music" came to be in the 70's not the 60's. It's called catagorized styles, each style is catagorized to it's title. Pasty would not have been "Pop" if she had not died she would have continued with "Country"

  • @yedon68 You are incorrect! Popular Music was NOT called "Pop" Music in the 60's there was, "Country, Rock, Classical, Big Band, Blues, Bluegrass" in the 60's and before. All Popular Music can not be classified as "Pop Music" "Pop Music" was not called "Pop Music" until 1974 that included the dance music with a pop in the beat to dance to. Adult Contemparary is another that came to be in the early to mid 70's.

  • @DougMcCallister1...LOL... Pop (or popular) music has always existed...

and Patsy would have been a big part of that

her life 'span' was a certain amount of time...

as with all of us...get it..?

  • @yedon68What was not meant to be???? Pop music did'nt exist in the 60's.

  • She sounds like Eve Arden with her deep voice! They're both so similar!
