The band Control Denied was formed by Chuck Schuldiner to create progressive/heavy metal, mixed with elements of death metal recognizable in his earlier band Death. The band started in 1996 as Schuldiner wanted to procure a more melodic style than was possible with Death. The project was interrupted by Death's release The Sound of Perseverance in 1998, but finally the debut album was released in 1999. A second album, tentatively titled When Man And Machine Collide, was partly recorded, but the death of Schuldiner in 2001, put the recordings on hold. Remaining band members have expressed a wish to complete and release the material

lyrics - A tool to do good has gone bad
Electric altar for new religion

A new way to link
A new way to think
Individual thoughts that have become missing

Laugh at my words you fool
They will soon become living truth
Look at yourself in the mirror
Reflection is living proof

What will they do when the link they live becomes missing?
Will they survive?
When the link they breathe becomes missing

When we see the face of evil
It will be the demon reality

  • The lead singer is a friend of mine that I haven't seen for a while. He's a cool dude. Last time I talked to him he was living in Pittsburgh, PA. He used to sing for a band called "Triple X" in the Pittsburgh area back in the late 80's into the mid 90's. Check ot a friend of his name Jim Dofka, awesome guitarist.

  • yes he is a great guitarist great music of his

  • I'm surprised this album didn't get more recognition, just for it's musical quality and the (negative) ''hype'' of Chucks death.

I mean, Pantera got a pretty big hype out of Dime's death...

My point is, it's just such a shame Chuck didn't make enough money out of his music to afford his opperation. :'(

Yea, the early 2000s were a bad time for metal. The artists who should have kept this music alive during this time died...

RIP Chuck Schuldiner, Dimebag Darrell and Layne Staley.
