Emo isn't about cutting yourself. It's a ridiculous stereotype projected on people who have a certain dress style and/or it's pansies who want to be emo, think emo is about cutting themselves, & proceed to do it.

I cut, but im far from emo, i try not to stereotype myself cause all of that's bullshit! cutting (for me at least) is like a high, it feels great in the moment, and it gets my mind off of all the rest of the shit that happens in this world.

ive been called "emo" and a few times but i could care less. yeah i went through a tough time and tried cutting for a while, but i dont think that makes me "emo". my best friends and i like to joke when it comes to lables and to joke and call me "emo" because the way i look or sometimes i act or say things, because im sad or something and say something harmlessly sad or whatever it is, that would be concidered "emo". but im not. and if you think i am, then cool. eveyone has their own opions.

being "emo" isnt exactly someone who cuts themself. its more of a lable that someone is given when they look a certain way, acts a certain way, or likes certain things. just like someone could be called a "jock" or "prep"...or "hippster". its just a dumb lable and you shouldnt care what someone lables you as because you should be the way you want to be. and if youre trying to be part of a lable then then thats dumb because you shouldnt TRY to be somthing or someone, you should just be you.
