What started out as a series of experiments to satisfy the fact i had a hell of alot of render time and nothing to fill it with after finishing the initail FX for Thunderbirds 2009 i decided to make it into a full blown tribute of what i think is one of Gerry Anderson's best shows, Fireball XL5.

Fireball Xl5 Was made in 1962, after Supercar and before Stingray. And shown in Black and white.

This Vid gives a new look into the universe of the World Space Patrol featuring scenes of the heroes and villians met throughout the series, set to Guy Taylor's instrumental : Încântat de Cunoştinţa. Enjoy

  • Old-school XL5 fan here (saw it when it was first on TV!). Fantastic job! Glad that you included even a smidgen of the launch sequence (best part of the show, IMHO). Bra-VO.

  • @dflat Thanks, the idea was to get a bit of everything including the comics, i wish i had the source material for zero x. :)

  • Wow!!! Someone simply needs to have a live action XL5. That would be amazing.

  • Amazing! Very well done.

  • Excellent work and a fine tribute! I enjoyed it thoroughly!

  • I just stumbled onto your clip. An excellent tribute to the program. I remember watching Fireball XL5 in it's first (and only) run on U.S. TV on the NBC network in 1963. It's been a favorite of mine forever, and I'm glad to see that you didn't try to "improve" it with out-of-place elements. You kept true to the original, and this fan is especially grateful. Again, Excellent work you can be very proud of.
