He's easily the worst person in Michigan's 11th district, but he's expanding his horizons. It's good to have goals.

Congrats, Thad. It couldn't have happened to a worse person.

  • @AynRandRevolution You're not very good at this. It sounds like both animals are very altruistic and one just wants the McCotter to act on this issue while the other wants him to act on others, like say abortion.

If we went through this whole debate so you could take that position, I'm very disappointed.

  • @EROX07 OK let me use an analogy. A dog and a squid are BOTH animals because of that they will have DNA that is similar in many ways to one another even though they are very different. Catholicism and Socialism do share a misguided sense of altruism at their core. However their real world applications are very different. Socialism seeks equality of results through government force. Catholicism does not. I do not care for either one though I would certainly pick Catholicism as the lesser evil.

  • @AynRandRevolution "Catholics United is NOT espousing views consistent with the Catholic church."

"however they do share the same misguided sense of altruism."

    So which is it?

  • @EROX07 So NO Catholics United is NOT espousing views consistent with the Catholic church. As for whether or not they are secretly a socialist front group. I have no idea. It is entirely possible that they are just a bunch of idiots who THINK they're doing the right thing after all "its for the children is a pretty enticing message"

  • @EROX07 Actually my original discussion was about how much of a joke the peace prize has become. Catholicism and socialism do both share a sense of misplaced altruism however any wealth redistribution scheme which requires taking money from one group to give to another breaks 2 commandments Thou shalt not covet (coveting your neighbors money counts) and Thou shalt not steal. The catholic church preaches VOLUNTARY altruism anything forced by the government is not done out of love.

  • @AynRandRevolution The genesis of this discussion was whether or not Catholics United was a socialist front group or reflected the tenants of the Catholic church. You started out saying they didn't; now it sounds like you're saying they do.

    Which is it?

  • @EROX07 No of course socialism is its own religion however they do share the same misguided sense of altruism. This whole notion that we should all self sacrifice and we should all lower are standard of living and somehow we're all going to be better off is insane. There was a time when Catholics believed as fervently in Catholicism as socialists believe in socialism today. Those time were known as the dark ages. And Europe did not advance for hundreds of years because of it.

  • @AynRandRevolution Finally, we get to the heart of it. You think the Catholic church IS a socialist front group.

  • @EROX07 The bible also advocates stoning disobedient children and homosexuals to death. And says that you cant cut your hair or get a divorce regardless of the circumstances.

And you're right the reason I am not a catholic anymore is because I don't feel like I should be indebted to any parasite less successful than me. Any religion or philosophy that claims that any man should be held as a sacrificial animal for the good of some undefined public is immoral in my mind.

  • @AynRandRevolution John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends."

I see why you're not a Catholic anymore.

Matt 19:21-22 "Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me. When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth."
