@Rubdos I was replying to the comment above mine! I know this isn't a Dash 8 in the video I'm not that stupid! I never knew much about the Dash 8's and was questioning whether it was DHC or Bombardier but of course i now know the answer to my curiosity! cheers
That couldn't be farther from the truth. The majority of turboprops, including the DHC Dash 8, have controllable pitch propellers that are capable of reversing thrust.
The Douglas DC-2 and the Boeing 247 are both early examples of radial/reciprocating engines that featured controllable pitch propellers capable of reverse thrust.
