First of all, I'm dedicating this slideshow to starwarschick16 because her videos inspired me to attempt something of my own. Thank you! I hope you like it. :)
The first verse is about Faramir, who is struggling for his father's acceptance, while Denethor cares only for Boromir. Anyway, Faramir focuses on how he doesn't measure up to his standards, especially in the instance of losing Osgiliath. Seeing his failures and attempting to finally gain his father's love, Faramir basically throws his life away to retake Osgiliath.
Then the second verse is about Eowyn and her feelings of insecurity. She sees herself as unimportant in her current role, so she desires to fight to prove herself, even seeking death in battle to achieve acclaim. However, though she defeats the Witch-King of Angmar, she still does not have what she wants...until Faramir renews her hope.
The subject switches back and forth throughout the song (from Eowyn to Faramir...with hints of Boromir, Denethor, and Aragorn). So this video is meant to exemplify the characters of both Eowyn and Faramir as well as to show them drawing closer to each other. Eventually, they both realize that they have no need to change themselves because they are content to be together and discover that they were exceptional people all along.
