  • I agree. The footage could be better.

    Still pretty cool, though.

  • Small handheld family camera, 15-18 mph winds, impact area about 3 miles away and the aircraft at about 7,000 feet weren't exactly forgiving conditions. If the USAF has another one I'll be better equipped.

  • wow its so silent

  • @fungusuarus They aren't used anymore

  • I think these are cooler than B2's

  • Yes, they use the -27!

  • The GBU-24 uses a MK-84 bomb body which weighs 2000lbs, but its mass is too large to fit onto the ejector racks on the F-117. When LGB's are needed, they typically use the GBU-27, which uses a BLU-109 bomb body, also 2000lbs, but with the same CCU, canards, and tail fin assembly. It was specifically designed with the F-117 in mind. I was a weapons systems specialist in the USAF.

  • $80,000 to impress a crowd

  • Kinda gives you an idea what it'd be like to be a soldier being bombed...

Little tiny plane way up there, no way to defend yourself with your lil rifle, just a woosh and blam, and you're done.

  • did bomb missed the target?

  • Awesome, too bad I probably won't ever see one of these again. Last I saw one it was maybe 10 feet away.

  • I'd have to agree about the camera work. In the first few seconds after the first F-117 leaves the frame I'm wondering what I'm looking at. But still, nice vid. It's amazing the variety of munitions the Air Force can employ. All for the sake of keeping the Ground Pounders alive. It's well worth it.
