Short video on cercumstances that might encourage you to adjust your truss rod in the guitar.
Listen to the video carefully, research the subject and be careful when carrying out this work.

PS: One thing I've realised recently is not all guitars have a hexagonal nut for truss rod adjustment. Some guitars have a simple alumn key gap which you can use a tool direct into the hole and adjust. Just to make that clear if I confused anyone.

  • Setting intonation is different from guitar to guitar. I have a gibson style bridge, had the "fret buzz". Also had new strings.. Shame on the sales guy, it was the strings that were faulty!

  • @TechnicalFreak That is very true actually, apologies I guess I'm too engrosed into the world of ibanez / floyd bridges. Maybe I should change the title...

  • so.....u SHOULD have a slight bow in the neck?? for 22 years Ive been terrified to think of having a bOw in the neck* wow

  • @97warlock yeah sure, a very slight bow manifesting at the headstock end. To be perfectly honest there isn't really any way of doing massive damage to your neck, even if you slacken the truss off massively it still won't warp or snap. The very minor bow will allow for a low action and no buzz from the early frets.

  • Hey dude

i own an ibanez s320, with the ZR trem

the action is horrible it hurts to play

so i lowed it, to a good place when it feals nice to play

and the whole neck buzz's and sounds like the same note all over the neck only the 1st to the 3rd fret doesn't buzz, i dont no what to do

if you have anything to help please tell me

    ;)

  • @bubbleabee just sounds too low an action. try making the action higher and add a tiny bit of bow to the neck via the truss. dont forget to slacken the strings off a little when you do it then tune back up and leave it a little while to adjust.

  • Jesus i thought you were Acle Kahney from Tesseract then when i saw the thumbnail

  • is the guitar slightly tilted downward, are your guitars are shimmed the neck pocket?

  • How far can low action be sets on a floyd rose guitar ? i mean compared to other types of bridges, like fixed bridge, tune o matic or thro body

  • that seemed more straight forward, most of the american videos dont explain properly

  • @97warlock Ty ....Ive pretty much got the action set now, atleast to a satisfactory heigth .......Problem was in my Nut ,haha) iT was set a bit too high on a shem, had to lower it ever so slightly, ended up stripping the screw hol;es & going up one length size to grab more wood......but its Fixed, Finally.
