Power ballad by Peter James released in 1965 on the Reprise label. Recordings by Peter James have long been attributed to PJ Proby by many music collectors. Written by Edwards and Shuman "I Am" was previously recorded by Tony Bennett in 1957. Arranged and Conducted by Ernie Freeman. This is the flip side of "You Won't Forget Me" sung by Peter James and written in 1962 by Sharon Sheeley and Jackie DeShannon.

  • I think it's COOL how you superimposed P.J.'s face on to the figures of Gene Vincent and Eddie Cochran! Joe

  • sherilyn1977,

Noblesse oblige huh? Excuse me while I look for a barf bag.

  • shugahshak. A lot you know about me. I've never claimed to know everything about PJ Proby? I've collected records for over 30 years with hard earned savings, others were given to me by family & friends. Not once have I bragged about my record collection and I am always willing to give away records I have multiple copies of to my good friends who are struggling to complete their collections. As for wealth and fame, it means nothing to me. Family and friends are more important .

  • sherilyn1977,

Sounds like you got your degree in "PJ Proby". They didn't offer that major at the university where I went but, wow, it impresses me almost as much as the thousands of rare records you brag about buying. If there was a TV quiz show about PJ Proby I just bet you could answer all the questions and become both rich and famous. Then you could buy even more of those rare records.

  • Is there an echo in here? Strange but I thought I heard an echo.

If you want to be so technical here, I didn't even use his proper name here.

  • castleontheriver

You know very well what I was trying to say, but you just couldn't resist displaying your ignorance about P.J. Proby here.

  • castleontheriver

Since you are such an authority on the English dictionary then why don't you go to university, get a degree and become an English teacher?

Also your petty ignorance about PJ Proby impresses me none.
