You're quite ignorant.. I'm also Dutch and Maarten van Rossem is definitely not a "media attention craving whore". He gets asked by shows because of his expertise, but most of all because of his pessimistic attitude (which is something many people like, or think it's a sign of intilligence). And about his expertise, the guy is a freaking professor and he graduated history at a university.

Jemig, die Pratt heeft echt geen verstand van geschiedenis, alsof wij een koning hadden en als we die al hadden had die al niks over overgave te zeggen. Net doen alsof die blaffertjes V1's, V2's, tanks en vliegtuigbommen hadden tegengehouden. waar ik denk dat van rossem gelijk heeft heeft pratt zich uitstekend verweerd tegen zo'n imponerende gesprekspartner als van Rossem. Vrij aanvallend waar van Rossem juist zelf gewend is iedereen aan te vallen.

Ik moet zeggen dat ik wel sympathie heb voor Pratt.Op dit moment is het inderdaad niet nodig om wapens in bezit te hebben, en we zijn er op dit moment veel beter aan toe dan de praktijken die we in de VS zien. Toch zullen tijden veranderen, en dan zullen we wederom machteloos zijn. Ik geef v Rossum overigens wel helemaal gelijk dat we met een bewapende bevolking niks konden inbrengen tegen de Wehrmacht, het leger dat tegen zo'n overtuigende coalitie van naties stand hield.Belachelijke gedachte

Pratt gives examples of people protecting themselves against other governments. Yet for the USA it's almost impossible to be attacked by another government; their government will protect them from invasion. And what good does having guns do when most of the people who have guns use them against other civilians (rioters; criminals)... Does that improve security?

If a government really wants to attack its citizens with the army, the citizens will loose; especially in the case of the US army..
