Ok seriously, all the farms that I know use painkillers. So I find it slightly insulting to say that they don't use them. Don't generalize, speak the truth.

My dad and grandpa are life time dairy farmers and nothing matters more to them than the welfare of their animals. This video makes me sick because of how ONE-SIDED it is. My dad or grandpa have never dehorned an adult cow and I have never heard of someone doing that. We would never do that to any of our cows. My dad and grandpa milk cows at 4 am and 4 pm, every single day without having free days. Boycotting the dairy industry isn't the right choice, expectantly when they work so hard..

Sorry, BUT THAT'S NOT THE TRUTH. 98% of all U.S. dairy farms are owned my families just like my families - (United States Agricultural Census 2012.) Dehorning is far from cruel, it's for the safety of the animals. Without dehorning cattle could hurt or even kill themselves. Dairy farmers would never do it if it was just to be cruel??? Dairy farming is one of the most respect industries in the Midwest. Wisconsin's license plates say "America's Dairyland," because of how respected it is there.

While we still attest that most of the milk in the country is produced on factory farms, we definitely aren't saying that anyone sets out to be cruel. But the fact remains that dehorning is a cruel practice common on dairy farms. Simple solutions, such as breeding to avoid the horn gene, exist, but we still encourage everyone to leave dairy out of their diet and opt for cruelty-free soy, almond, rice, or coconut milk. Cows deserve a real life, not that of a milking machine.

this is true I am a veterinary technician and when I was in school I went to a dairy farm where the large animal vet burned off the horns of a cow. I heard that another time the small animal vet went too (she was the head of the program) she had a fit when she saw no pain killer was used. After that I believe the large animal vet had to use pain killers. During this time we also went to a sheep farm where we held lambs while the vet castrated them. These things really happ Now I am a vegan
