The Philippine Madrigal Singers' performance at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola, New York, NY on September 24, 2009.
"Based on an Ignatian prayer, Suscipe is a musical reflection on the many faces of prayer. It begins with a serene, repetitive, homophonic plea made by the male section, interjected by two female soloists. The work then progresses through many phases, which hint at a sense of desperation and urgency. Eventually, there is a return to the homophonic plea that reflects an ultimate surrender to the will of God." -from the Program Notes
Suscipe, Domine, universam meam libertatem.
