I understand my friend every man who loves his country. It's normal. In what a irritating, as you said, is why the Greeks resisted the onslaught of one greater than the war machine of the time. The Persians. From there on we have inspired the world, over time, perhaps because they were not free men. And a big difference between the Greek Spartan Leonidas and Ariobarzanes is that the first was killed at the point where he chose to defend while the second retreated to Persepol

Yep one thing irritates me alot that they put ancient greece over Persia. Persia is an underrated civilization which indeed has had massive influence on other ciivlization. Iranians had identical battle events like Spartans. There was a hero called ArioBarzan who stood up with his 400 calvarly against 14,000 of Alexander infantry for roughly 1 month he was successful to make alexander and his troops to retreat but a traitor showed alexander alternative way to outflank ariobarzan

1st) there were historics at that time who were speaking for about 1milion Persians. The Global historics today they agree and they speak among 400.000 and 450.000 Persians.
2nd) there were not at the begging 300 Spartans but many diefferent numbers of Greek city-states. After trator Efialtis did they stood less than 300 Spartans and 700 Thespians to HOLD the MARCH of Xerxis in Southern Greece by sacrifice. Sometimes my friend when you lose the same time you are a winner.
If the Greeks were defeated by the persians then the Western world as we know it today wouldn't exist
