  • I agree with this.

There are a bunch of short-lived shows that should be given a shot.

I would really like to turn the TV on and see "Karen", "He And She", "Love On A Rooftop", etc.

Do they really think we want 90's shows on TV Land?

  • Three things I do not like about TVLand. 1) They overplay the same shows one time too many. They could squeeze these short lived shows into time slots where they overplay the others. 2) They squeeze out the credits at the end and you cannot read who played a certain role! 3) The constantly show the same promos between scenes and then flash at the bottom while you are trying to enjoy these old shows!

  • @jldraw There are some outlets on Dish and other sat-broadcasters, but you can forget cable by and large ... they have to hue to the demos advertisers want more. But there's a lot on Hulu and Netflix, and DVD collections. There's just no money to be made by advertisers on mainstream cable, so they won't touch it. And we Boomers used to RULE THE WORLD! LOL!

  • @bellier20 Great point. I believe several years back someone associated with Nick At Nite and TV LAND made the same point if I'm remembering correctly. TVLAND used to be awesome though with the old commercials, classic sitcoms and rare documentaries but now it's exactly as you described. Still there has to be an outlet for the classic shows of the 50s, 60s & 70s. I guess that is why there is the DVD market now although 1 hit wonders like "Karen" are probably lost to time sadly.

  • Debbie Watson also starred in "Tammy" with a southern accent no less see v=3T3BkHx_dZU

  • Man, this must have been a blip. Do not recall at all.

  • I think I may have seen an ep of this in my twenties. Could have been another show. Had to do with a trip to Hawaii, but somebody else got to take it?

TVLand is catering to the same age they did twenty years ago. Twenty years ago they were showing Petticoat Junction, now they're showing Three's Company.

I notice they've still got I Dream of Jeannie, though.

  • @prausch65 ON A NICE RAINY DAY OR SNOWY DAY DRINKING HOT COCO ON YOUR WARM COUCH WITH YOUR DOG LAYING ON YOUR FEET NICE AND COZY

  • I wholeheartedly agree with these comments. I used to love TV Land, now it sucks. Why can't they bring back any of the great 60s shows like Get Smart!, Petticoat Junction, My Three Sons, etc. The stuff they have on now is just shitty.

  • @MikeStivic Sounds like RTN-Retro Television Network!

  • Unfortunately, Baby Boomers are no longer in the prime 25-45 demographic advertisers covet. That's why TV Land now shows re-runs of Everybody Loves Raymond and the oldies stations on FM radio play 80s music -- to this younger demo this IS classic.

  • MikeStivic: Yes I do. I've been watching the reruns of Good Times, Father Knows Best, and Dennis the Menace on it. I don't watch Benny Hill. Burns and Allen were way before my time.
