i just heard that one of my best friends died four hours ago , suddenly at the age of 53. There were 22 of us, who grew up as young married couples together. We survived the knocks, the babies, the babies who were never to be, and we stuck together, and now the first of us is gone. This music is for us, who lived life like the summerr of 42. Here is to those of us, to remain, and much love to Bob who has left us.

When Jennifer O'Neil was on Larry King some years ago, a guy called in and said the movie had a profound effect on him. When King asked her if she had heard that before, she simply said, "Yes." She was not smiling or happy. She actually seemed sad.

When I hear this song, I think of a tall, statuesque girl with long, dark hair and blue/green eyes--the most beautiful woman I have ever known. And I remember when she rode on the back of a convertible in Mobile in 1973, her hands resting on the shoulders of me and my friend. And I remember the warmth of her hand on mine and the sight of her long, tanned legs, and the wind in our faces as we rode down the street. And 38 years later, it remains a magical night.

@swatson999 On up until very recent times, the judicial system didn't see it that way. An older woman would almost never be prosecuted for having a relationship with a younger, adolescent male. (I did say "adolescent" male). Charges by the boy's parents were very rare in such cases. Of course now, in accordance with political correctness and pursuant to an androgynous society, the court system is being pushed to prosecute.... Sad, because males and females are very different in that respect

Creo que la película es maravillosa y te deja una moraleja,no tiene nada que ver con la hipocresia y el amor no tiene edad el sexo es la culminación del amor.....

No, hypocrite, what does getting pregnant have to do with it?
Statutory rape is statutory rape and is wrong and illegal, regardless of whether a male or female is committing it.
Grow up.

Same standards, as to get pregnant?

beautiful film with a beautiful soundtrack.

The film would have been even more interesting if she got knocked up. Like sometimes in real life. Pop goes the "beautiful" movie. You know...consequences and accountability for your actions. Keep the baby or kill it off? Society pays the price etc. As a teenager I probably would wish I were that "lucky" kid. But now having the wisdom of an adult...not a chance. Bingo swatson999. A healthy society cannot exist for long without unwavering high standards else it will become dysfunctional.

40 years later, and I am STILL haunted by this beautiful movie and score......
