Another audio device from the Mirlitrons' sonic armoury, courtesy of the Mirlisonics Studio. This bongo-playing analogue computer is based on the Popular Electronics 'Audio Artist' which can be found here: http://www.synthdiy.com/show/?id=1654

  • how does it store sounhd data.

  • @johneymute

It doesn't 'store' anything. It's a synthesizer, it generates the sounds itself. This is called "analog". :-)

  • Cool thanks!

  • Nothing major. I subbed a few components and tweaked the values of others to improve the sound, particularly around the FET that tunes the twin-T. Sorry, I didn't keep notes, except that the 2N5457 FET I used gives better linearity in response.

The two op-amp oscillators ideally need antilog pots, but I can't be bothered to find them - I used log pots wired backwards, i.e. turning them anti-clockwise ups the rate.

  • Oh those wonderful and strange alien noises that emit from Mirlitron Studios! I never cease to be amazed by the creativity! Good job, my friend!
