My dad caught two trains leaving Portage Yard on April 3. Both of them were powered by a Canadian Pacific GE AC4400CW leading a leased GCFX SD40-2.

First was CP 8541 leading GCFX 3077 on an eastbound manifest which started to depart but then came to a stop.

Then CP 9654 and GCFX 3073 headed westbound with a unit ADM hopper train.

  • There is usually no need to lease engines during a recession with decreased traffic levels.

  • Same model as the 777 in Unstoppable :D

The train 777 was an AC4400CW

  • That's exactly what i thought of myself when i talked to a girl on facebook for the first time:A train leaving the yard bound for the mainline.

  • why what's wrong with them? Are they replacing them with new engines?

  • They are pulling alot of those SD40 CEFX's out of service. Storing them at different yard across the country. We have had a lot of them come in to Coquitlam.
